Quote from Declaration of Independence and Constitution on life
“In the gospels, our Lord says . . .'be not afraid.’ As we stand boldly for life, marriage, and religious liberty, let us heed His admonition. It is not for us to know when or even precisely how the victories will be won. Our task and duty is simply to be faithful and obedient—to bear witness and do what is right . . . When things look bleak, we must not give up hope, for to yield to despair is to fail to trust in Jesus.” Dr. Robert George, one of the contributors to the Manhattan Declaration.”
The above is to the point of exactly where the primary emphasis of the Christian endeavors must be in our time. The foundational essence of civilization is on the line and people who claim Christ must come to grips the warlike spirit of Anti-God and Christ are deigning to destroy not just the idea of God, but God Himself.
As the last few weeks flew by, the moaning of Christians about how bad things are have flooded the media with the woe is me verbiage. When paying attention, it dawned on me that Christians, the vessels that are redeemed to demonstrate the power of God and the Glory of Jesus Christ, are intimidated by the boasting of a modern Goliathan Giant. Where are the Davids?
I am deeply moved by the words of Dr. Robert George in italics in the Manhattan Declaration:
“When things look bleak, we must not give up hope, for to yield to despair is to fail to trust in Jesus.”
We Christians must face the obscured fact that the center on the modern argument in our nation is NOT Political, but spiritual. Abortion is not a legitimate political subject. It is a matter of life and death! Marriage between A man and A woman is not political but a matter of life and death for the family and civilization. Notice Paul on our times:
2Timothy 3:1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:
2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! (NKJV).
