A Short Time With Larry 12-28-2020 12 Years
Todays’ thought-starter passages are Luke 2:41-50.
Often while shopping, we see a frantic father or mother or both searching for a child. About the same thing happened to Joseph and Mary. At the age of 12, Jesus was missing! For three days!
When they found Him in the temple, they asked,
“Why have you done this to us?’
Jesus tenderly rebuked them for permitting fear to cloud their thinking. In Jewish culture, 13 years is a bar mitzvah. Jesus was light years ahead of his earthly birth, as the scene in the temple reveals.
At this tender age, He was about His father’s business. In today’s world, Christians fuss about men and women in their twenties surrendering to serve Christ as “They are too young to know.” Baloney.
Jesus returned home with them and was subject to them. Teenage rebellion is not proper.
Make today Count.
