When Disney World was first opened in Orlando Michael Vance, a Disney's executive heard a man say, "Isn't it too bad that Walt Disney didn't live to see this?" Mr. Vance looked at the man and stated, "He did see it and that is precisely why we are here today."
Mr. Vance understood the power of vision and knew that everything was at one time a figment of a person or groups imagination. Things are seen in our mind and felt in our heart prior to their materialization. Even God’s ultra magnificent creation was in His mind and heart before the creation.
Vision as used in scripture is seeing with the spiritual eye the way things will be when God moves in on the scene. This is made plain by Peter quoting Joel 2:28 in Acts 2:17:
"And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:"
Having vision is actually seeing what God has in the future and believing what you see. Vision as used in Acts, Joel and Proverbs is used 35 times and Strongs' Hebrew Lexicon states, "To mentally perceive; to contemplate." Without this kind of vision people perish, meaning "to go back."
My prayer is Oh, God refresh my vision.
