The Folly of "Busy" McCheyne

A Short Time With Larry 6-10-2020 Busy

A few years ago, after much frustration I learned the primary difference between being “busy” and being effective.

Here’s advice from a super effective and spiritual pastor of bygone days:

“No amount of activity in the Kings service will make up for neglect of the King Himself.” Robert Murray McCheyne.

Jesus used the meal time at Peter’s house to teach the lesson to Martha focusing on the meal and Mary’s focus on the Master!
Both meal and Master are important, but each must be kept in perspective.
Martha was “cumbered with much serving” while Mary was engrossed with Jesus, the one who blessed the service.
The Bible is replete with teachings concerning the importance of talking with God, for walking and talking with Jesus.
The song, A Little Talk With Jesus or In The Garden, and one I apply to me, How Long Has it Been, since you talked with the Lord?
Well?
Today’s thought courtesy of Berean Baptist in Terre Haute. Make today count.
