The Deporables go First

LLLV19 12-23-2019 The Deplorables Visit Jesus First
Luke 2:8-20 tells of shepherds going about their work, taking care of sheep.
These workers are the first to receive angelic notice that Messiah was born, and they also are the first people recorded to visit Jesus! They are the first to give testimony about their experience with Jesus.
I’m Larry Lilly, considered by many to be in the caste status as were the shepherds. Shepherds were considered by many to be outcast, and beautiful people were to have no dealings with them. Religious/legal writings of the time stated, they could not be a witness in judicial proceedings.
The shepherds were the “deplorables” of their time.
Contrast the contrary opinion of society with the high honor God Almighty placed on them, and you see that He cares about the outcast, though He does work in the wise of this world about two years later!
May God use the Deplorable Shepherds to bring humility to our hearts.
Make Today, Count.
