A Short Time With Larry 6-22-2020 clean slate
Rummaging through an old Bible, I came across a note I had written in the wide margin forty years ago.
“In ancient Rome, writing was done on a slate (a tabula) covered with wax. The tabula was erased by warming the wax and smoothing it out, resulting in a tabula rasa—a “clean slate..” In philosophy, tabula rasa refers to the idea that humans are born with a “clean slate” which is then filled with life’s knowledge and experiences.”
The note in my old Bible is written along side of 1John 1:9,
If we confess our sins, He us faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
“David’s prayer of repentance in Psalm 51:2 covers it this way:
“Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.”
Go to Psalm 51 read and implement it and Christ’s Blood works the “tabula rasa’ principle.
