A Short Time With Larry 12-9-2020 Surrender
The Nativity Story gives much information about the victorious life as Christians. Here’s a verse from Luke about Mary:
Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word!” And the angel departed from her. LK 1:38.
Mary set the pace for God’s children throughout time. She surrendered to God in her heart
Years ago, Christians used to sing, “I Surrender All.” This is not in vogue today. Mary took the place of a servant, as did Jesus Christ.
People who get things done for God don’t attempt to coerce Jesus into doing their bidding. They bow to Him.
Note the emphasis: “According to your word.”
Reliance on God’s Word is imperative when working for God. Self-willed Christians seldom accomplish much for Jesus.
Are you negotiating with Jesus or surrendering?
