LLLV19 9-23-2019 Schopenhauer on Vision
“Every man takes the limits of his field of vision for the limits of the world.” Arthur Schopenhauer.
This German thinker held “nature, including man, is the expression of an insatiable will to life.”
Tragically too many people judge all things to be within the sphere of their understanding. When this is the case, their entire living experience is based on their own experience and exposure, their limits.
To grow in faith, we must admit there is more to life and living than we can grasp; therefore, all efforts to define God are doomed to failure.
When Washington Carver asked Jesus to explain the creation to him, Carver claimed God said,
“Let’s start with a peanut!”
Broad visions are Jesus sent! Note Mt 9:29:
"According to your faith let it be to you." (NKJV)
