Hopefully today (I am writing a week prior) we know who the President elect of The United States is. Clergy will urge us to pray for him as we are instructed in the Bible. Whichever one has been chosen President will be advised by all sorts of people most of whom do not run their own life well, but are certain they could do a bang up job from the Oval Office.
Our man will need great intellect to solve the enormous problems. Intensity will be essential. Of course insight into the complexities of the people, nations and intricacies of the hour is essential.
If our man has all of the above he will fail if he lacks another very important quality: Integrity.
Psalms 78:72 “So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.”
David sure had his share of missteps and often more willful transgressions, yet God refers to him with a magnificent endorsement in the above verse. I would to God I could obtain such from the Lord. The applicable idea to whomever today’s President Elect is simple; he will have much that needs forgiven along with our sincere prayers.
Integrity of heart is essential. His persona won’t matter all that much. Just looking good won’t cut it. Deep down integrity of heart is the best hope for our President and for the Free World.
