When we humans hit a slump time, a down in the dumps period, we tend to let up, to spend a little time sulking and perhaps placing a little blame. An old song had it; I don’t need nobody to tell my troubles too.” Don’t kid yourself; select the right person to talk over the situation.
Here’s the formula for overcoming a time of funkiness used by Baseball Hall of Famer, Hammering Hank Aaron:
“My motto was always to keep swinging. Whether I was in a slump or feeling badly or having trouble off the field, the only thing to do was keep swinging.”
Jesus Himself was acquainted with grief, as was Paul. Paul uses the reality of the Resurrection of Jesus and our coming resurrection to put the pain life often hands to us in perspective with this outburst of praise:
“Because He Lives, we live also.”
