Moby Dick and You

A Short Time With Larry 3-13-2020 Melville

Have you read or seen the film, Moby Dick? It’s about being totally focused on getting revenge, of being consumed with getting even, Moby Dick was a Great White Whale. The classic teaches the folly of a life of hatred.

Do you know that Hermon Melville's four novels were not endorsed by but one fellow writer? Nathaniel Hawthorne?

Heres a sad line for Melville's generation:

For the last thirty years of his life, he sought obscurity as a minor customs officer.

Melville’s most noted character, Captain Ahab would be typed as Obsessive-Compulsive in today’s world.

Which brings me to the point of today’s thought stater:

Are you obsessed with something or someone? Is your obsession legitimate or as Loyd Douglas wrote, A Magnificent Obsession? The difference is defined as a compelling drive to achieve a worthwhile end, or goal, even a dream.

Are you obsessed with pleasing Jesus Christ?
