Love; The Many Splendored Thing!

A Short Time With Larry 6-12-2020 love

An Elderly woman who had never married, walked along a path in the town park, with a widower, as the two had been doing for years. Out of the blue the lady said to the man: “Don’t you think it’s time we got married?” The man replied; “Yes, yes I do. But who on earth would have us?”

I have no idea as to what direction was taken after the above conversation. But I do know over  long years of pastoring the joy in a couples heart when the above question is popped, by one to the other and the response is mutual.

I also attempt to comfort the one in such a relationship who is hit like a hammer with the realization that the two had walked on two separate pages of understanding.

The Bible commands husbands to love their wife as Christ loved the church. When this happens you can sing, “Love is a many Splendored Thing.” When this doesn’t happen, forget it!
