The first Judge of note in the book of Judges was Othniel. We learn Othniel was of good parentage, a courageous soldier, married well and was chosen by God to deliver Israel from bondage.
He judged Israel for 40 years of peace.
Othniel was a man of character as is seen in Judges.
During my Sunday AM sermon I extolled the lineage of Othniel, as well as his character. In doing this I realized that many in the congregation were from similar backgrounds as am I; Totally Anti-Christian to the moment of conversion to Jesus Christ.
A thought flashed into my mind and I shared it with the people God has entrusted to my watchcase.
Othniel came from an outstanding heritage. Remember, you cannot control where you came from, but in Christ you’re responsible for the heritage of your children.
We Christians need to pay attention to those following our footsteps.
