Learning to Smile Through Tears

A Short Time with Larry 2-24-2020

Ella Wheeler Wilcox wrote:

“It is easy  enough to be pleasant when life flows by like a song,
But the man worthwhile is one who will smile When everything goes dead wrong.

For the test of the heart is trouble,
And it always comes with the years,
And the smile that is worth the praises of Earth
Is the one that shines through tears.”

The great Hymnodist, Charles Weigle noted in  I Sing of Thee;

‘I sing of Thee and smile through tears; for Thou has saved me by Thy power.’”

Life has tears and the beauty of being one of Christ’s is that we see through the years, the end of tears when Jesus wipes them away.

Job 13:15 encourages:

“Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him. Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him.”

As you deal with tears, remember there’s a great day coming!

Make today count.

"You may determine the quality of a person's life by the level of their  commitment to excellence." Tom Landry
