The idea that Christians were NOT primary in the founding of The United States is not supported by a glance or in-depth research. Here’s a sample of the positive influence of Jesus Christ in the nation:
John Jay, first Chief Justice of The Supreme Court wrote in 1816:
“Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest, of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.”
While reading the above, I turned to Psalm 125:3,
“The wicked will not rule the land of the godly, for then the godly might be tempted to do wrong.”
Further enlightenment came from 2Samuel 23:3,
“He who rules over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.”
Christians must turn to our Lord in these times of turmoil with a heart of praise for Jesus.
