What if the Mayan Calendar is correct? Well?
I would make a good crooked politician in that I take advantage of any crisis to further my agenda, and recently I have been trying to help many of my friends get very good jobs. If the world doesn’t end on Friday, I will send the resumes of my friends to several businesses where the boss got his well-deserved comeuppance today. (Thursday is Tell Your Boss off Day). The end of world or not, the bosses’ salty being told off most likely will result in some equally salty firings. This creates the openings for intelligent workers.
I am advising those few of my friends who actually have a good job to take to heart the wise words of a late American philosopher:
“Christmas is a time when everybody wants his past forgotten and his present remembered. What I don't like about office Christmas parties is looking for a job the next day.” - Phyllis Diller, late U.S. Saint.
Enough of heavy writing. The event we celebrate each December probably happened in more benign month, but the beauty of the event is that it truly ushered in a bona fide new age.
Luke 2:34 “And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;”
Christ is the personal world changer.
