Is This The Last Day Of Your World?

12-20-12  Last Day of Your World?

What if the Mayan Calendar is correct? Well?

I would make a good crooked politician in that I take advantage of any crisis to further my agenda, and recently I have been trying to help many of my friends get very good jobs. If the world doesn’t end on Friday, I will send the resumes of my friends to several businesses where the boss got his well-deserved comeuppance today. (Thursday is Tell Your Boss off Day). The end of world or not, the bosses’ salty being told off most likely will result in some equally salty firings. This creates the openings for intelligent workers.

I am advising those few of my friends who actually have a good job to take to heart the wise words of a late American philosopher:

“Christmas is a time when everybody wants his past forgotten and his present remembered. What I don't like about office Christmas parties is looking for a job the next day.” - Phyllis Diller, late U.S. Saint.

Enough of heavy writing. The event we celebrate each December probably happened in more benign month, but the beauty of the event is that it truly ushered in a bona fide new age.

Luke 2:34 “And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;”

Christ is the personal world changer.

Why is it that when phoolish preachers preach the end of the world on a specific day and it doesn't happen, they get identified as phools, but when TV network execs spend millions preaching the end of the world on a particular day, and it doesn't happen, they are not identified as phools, like all that preaching was done by no one in particular ? Huh? Why is that? I'd really like to know! Remember when they were preaching that the coming of Halley's comet in 1986 was going to bring mass destruction, famine, and survival by canibalism? And when it didn't happen, we just gave them a free pass on it. And here we go again.

Well there is one possibility for the "End of the Worls." We know by now that Al Qaeda tends to schedule its attacks for dates that we consider important. With the network executives working themselves into a frenzy trying to convince us that the world is going to come to and end tomorrow, there is a chance that Al Qaeda may have noticed, and scheduled some mass murder to fulfill our growing expectations.

If so I'm sure it will be due to what ever cover story our Commander in Chief makes up for them. And of course it would provide the networks with plenty of copy to sell advertising space, probably making back more than they spent preaching The End of the World.

"What if the Mayan calendar is correct ?" Well, actually, it is correct. It is more accurate than ours. But that's not what we have been lead to assume that "correct" means. Lets be clear. The Mayan calendar did not say the date in question was the end of the world. It said it was "then end of the age." It was our TV network executives that turned that into "the end of the world." And of course we are to blind to comprehend the obvious, and assume that their "reporting" is reporting, and never hold them responsible for their deliberate deception.
