A friend sent a collection of statements from various sources that insist the United States as a rule understood the concepts of Plato concerning the only type of people who could sustain a Republic for very long. Plato had no knowledge of Christ but he put the knowledge he had to good use. Note this from New Hampshire:
New Hampshire's Constitution, 1784, stated (PART 1, ARTICLE 6):
"As morality and piety, rightly grounded on evangelical principles will give the best and greatest security to government...
The people of this state...empower the legislature...to make adequate provision...for the support and maintenance of public Protestant teachers of piety, religion and morality."
How many words/ideas in this 1784 document are totally offensive to many/most Americans?
Count em: Evangelical, support public Protestant, piety, religion, morality. People empowered legislature.
In the current environment Jesus Christ couldn’t get elected dog catcher.
I was moved by the phrase “rightly grounded” in evangelical principles. In our modern culture most evangelicals are not “rightly grounded” in the principles the official statements of faith they profess as truth.
It’s time for Godly people to review and implement God’s instruction to Solomon. It will work even against confirmed bullies.
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
