8-22-12
For over fifty years I have been working with salesmen, Christian workers of various sorts and one hard nut, me, to learn to achieve at fifty even a hundred times better than any previous effort.
A truth I heard back in the days of youth confronted me on Monday morning in Steve Ventura's motivational email. It is so simple yet so true:
At 211 degrees…water is hot.
At 212 degrees…it boils.
With boiling water, comes steam.
And steam can power a locomotive.
And, it's that one extra degree that…
Makes all the difference.
Watching the Olympics we learned that a few milliseconds can make the difference between gold and no mention. Dr. Bob Hamblen used to say, "The little difference makes all the difference."
As you begin attempting to motivate yourself and others you observe a number of realities: Some are not even on the stove and there is some question as to whether they are embalmed. Others are by statement on the stove, but they're not hooked up. They do look nice sitting on the stove. Still others are on the stove but the fire is on low and there is a fear of getting too hot. The objective is getting the water from current temp to 212 degrees.
So, where does this find you? Only you can turn up the fire. The time is now.
Jesus said "I would thou wert cold or hot." Revelation 3:15.
