A Short Time With Larry 3-31-2020 Grief

My pastor friend, David Thomas, whom I have known and worked with for 46 years, recently sent a note to me that he had written to a faraway relative that had lost a son to an accident.

I copied a brief sentence from that letter as I think it's a textbook line for helping those who are grieving:

"As you know, I know how it feels to lose a child. I've heard it said that time heals every wound. I'm still waiting. That one won't heal until we step inside the gates of pearl."

Paul claimed to be carrying enormous grief: he wrote in Romans 9:2:

"That I have great sorrow and continual grief in my heart."

Concerning grief Isaiah wrote concerning Messiah/Christ:

"Surely He has borne our griefs."

You can be sure that Jesus knows how you hurt in your heart.

And Someday….
