Caesar Augustus, "The Emperor" The human god of all he surveyed, issue a draconian order that all the world should be taxed, forcing those where thousands of miles from their birthplace to return.
From this ridiculous mandate, a carpenter and his very young wife with the child were forced to head for a tiny spot called Bethlehem. The wife rode a donkey while with a babe near birth.
The arrogant "Emperor" had no idea that he was being used by the true ruler of creation to accomplish his will concerning the redemption of a fallen race.
Luke 2:1-7 tells the story.
Self-styled "Emperors" in 2020 believe themselves to be the all in all. But the king's heart is in God's Hand!!
The Nativity account bears this out!
