The difference between a pessimist and a biblically positive person is dramatic.
The vast space between the two types is wide and deep.
The early Christians were faced with the utterly corrupt Roman Empire, with leaders like Nero who had The morals of an alley Tom Cat. The cat’s morals were superior to those of Nero. It’s interesting that his name is not mentioned in the Bible.
That the church of the first three centuries stood tall against the mores of the surrounding world is a matter of biblical and secular history.
The church at Corinth told a group within after noting that many had practiced the morals of Nero:
“And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.” 1Cor 6:11.
Christ is The Difference.
