A Minute with Larry 1-27-2020 Dung Heap
Dr. Donald Grey Barnhouse pastored the Tenth Street Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia. His statement on God’s purpose for the church is biblical and therefore timeless:
“The Church was not left in this world to perfume the dung-heap of fallen humanity, but to take out, one by one, those who will be saved from the coming destruction.”
Jesus taught his disciples to go and make disciples who were in turn go and make disciples. The process is to continue until Jesus comes again.
It’s of note that Jesus spent very little time attempting to vote for more moral lifestyles. He was for such but warned of the necessity of being born again and part of being a disciple is to get our act together in harmony with His teaching and example.
By believing in Jesus Christ we become a child of God. By becoming a disciple, we become an obedient child of God and impact others to flee the wrath to come.
Make today count.
