It’s more than interesting to thumb through a concordance of the Bible and search out the times of fear many of the people faced. Some of the greatest victories came on the other side of fear. The Psalmist proclaimed, “Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.” Psalm 56:3.

The anonymous saying, sometimes attributed to Spurgeon states: “Fear knocked at the door, Faith answered and lo, no one was there.” Often, fear takes flight when met with courage, the faith that God will work out things in His way and time.
Fear can come on us whether we are facing evil or good. This two-fold fear is unfolded for our encouragement when the disciples of Jesus were ordered to cross the Sea of Galilee, and while they were in full obedience to His command, a storm arose and they were in fear for their lives, on the verge of the boat capsizing they drowning! During this paralyzing fear, a strange sight overtook them and they were afraid in the storm and further terrified by what they thought was ghost. Here’s the brief:
Mark 6:49 “And when they saw Him walking on the sea, they supposed it was a ghost, and cried out; 50 for they all saw Him and were troubled. But immediately He talked with them and said to them, "Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid."
The following verses tell of Christ summonsing Peter to come to Him, and as far as we know, Peter still holds the world record for walking on stormy water.
Spiritual writers usually point out that in our times of trouble, we find that Jesus Christ is with us. Whether we discover this truth or not, He promised and He is with us through the storm.
It’s not possible for me to know the exact trouble you are fearful of today, but I hope that you will trust Jesus while you Face Everything And Rise! Remember, the choice is yours!
