Fear Almost Ruined an Icon

A Short Time With Larry 7-7-2020 Memphis

Sixty-Six years ago, a 19-year-old boy, a favorite singer in church circles, sent a recording to a local disk jockey. Unaware that the record would be played, he went to a movie.

The song was played and requested to be played fourteen times again! Listeners wanted to know who and what kind of music?

The DJ called the number of the singer and was told he was at the movie. The mother rushed to the theater to get the boy, then rushed to the radio station for a late-night interview.

The boy admitted he had been too nervous to listen to stating;

"I thought people would laugh at me, so I went to the movie."

The DJ asked, "Who do you sing like?" He said, "I don't sing like nobody."

He wasn't kidding. The 19 year sang only like who he was, Elvis Presley!

The fear of failure almost canceled his career.

What fear is holding you back from your dream?

Dreaming? That's All Right, go for it.
