Over the last 38 years I have invested much time in studying and helping men and a few women who name Christ yet have fallen or dove into serious sin. I have identified with these folks and offered help because of scriptural knowledge and sad experience.
The question of why perplexes all who seriously consider the subject. The instances of celebrity types hit the headlines and the guilty are from all divisions of possessing and mere professing Christians. They range in status from the unknown in the back to the ones who reign from the pulpit. The question from the victim or the perpetrator is the same; why?
I read an article over the weekend that addresses this better than any I have ever read. It comes from an unlikely pen. I was blessed by his closing statement:
Why Do Fools Fall in Lust?
“Your wound is not fatal, nor do you have to serve God with a "limp" to your walk ever more. While it's true, you will bear scars, understand that a scar is a healed wound that only serves as a reminder of the dangers of sin, and a reminder of the need to maintain our walk of faith.”

Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
