Pay attention while reading the Bible and you may be surprised by what you learn. The scriptures teach us by direct statement and implied reference that “with God nothing is impossible.” We need not take this statement as mere words of encouragement, for they are God’s words designed to remind us, and yes, encourage us to trust our Creator for the things impossible to us to be probable through His mighty power working in believers. The scriptures are chock full of incidents of His power overcoming horrific circumstances. Hebrews chapter 11 in its entirety tells of one impossibility after another becoming reality, beginning with Creation!
Therefore, having a compelling desire for something that is right is often God’s motivating power moving you toward a plan He has for your abundant life, the life that is promised by Jesus Christ:
John 10:10, "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (NKJV).
Do you have a burning desire in your heart of hearts? Have you measured it by God’s Word? Are you willing to make the necessary effort? Sitting on a couch dreaming about hitting a game winning home run in the World Series will not cut it!
Aspiration, followed by the willingness to “endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ,” as Paul taught is evidence that the desire is genuine and not mere wishful thinking. Here’s where Einstein’s thought comes into play:
“Never give up on what you really want to do. The person with big dreams is more powerful than the one with all the facts.” Albert Einstein.
Einstein, the world-famous mathematician, failed elementary school arithmetic, so, that being true, his higher math skills could not have any part in nuclear science. Yet he was one of the prime workers in the development of the Atomic Bomb. Moses stuttered and therefore could not lead the Jews from slavery in Egypt to the greatness of Israel. Mary could not scientifically be the mother of Jesus, yet God wrought the Virgin Birth through her. Christ could not scientifically rise from the dead, yet He did.
In your life you will face impossibilities. Keep in mind the biblical truth, that “with God all things are possible.”
