Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. (NKJV)
Today’s scripture jumps to the nitty-gritty of life; life has surprises; some are shocking beyond belief. Often the response to shocking events reveals a lot about character.
Many in Joseph's situation would have murderous thoughts. Emotions would run the gamut.
Not so with Joseph. This man is called Just, and his thought patterns bear the title true, he wanted to do no harm to Mary.
Joseph decided to spare Mary public humiliation and handle things as privately as possible. Agape on display.
