LLLV18 11-29-2018 David Lloyd-George on The Current American Crisis
While browsing the other day I came across several bits of interesting material about the WW1 Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, David Lloyd-George. You may get a chuckle from the first two. The third is astounding when taken into consideration with the absence of anything remotely Evangelical. Mr. Lloyd-George shared his idea on a measure of character that desperately needs reaffirmation in today’s climate:
“There is nothing so fatal to character as half-finished tasks.” David-Lloyd George.
Our nation’ including every facet thereof is suffering a plague of Half-Done Itis.”
Just look around.
On another front you see at least a streak of honesty in the Prime Minister when asked by a young man for help to become a part of His Majesty’s Navy:
“What do you want to be a sailor for? There are greater storms in politics than you will ever find at sea. Piracy, broadsides, blood on the decks. You will find them all in politics.” David Lloyd-George.
Look at any national media today, and you will have to admit the Prime Minister’s remark fits our modern political world like the proverbial glove. The bloody politics of the U.K. during the WW1 era was colored red. And here in the land of the free and brave, our Civil War, according to the cartoons and political realities drenched our soil with blood, even to the red blood of President Lincoln.
The most disappointing thing for political aficionados is the undeniable fact that we all are flawed. This flaw, whatever or how, will “Out.”
Prime Minister Lloyd-George, though not a religious man, commented on the desperate nature of current events (when a politician, unthinking, states a truth, it is remarkable and should be noted) and he hit the ball out of the park
“Statesmanship and diplomacy have failed. The only remedy is Jesus Christ. It is either Christ or Chaos.” David Lloyd-George.
Many thinking people currently agree with the statement. Political solutions have failed and miserably so. Our world needs to admit the need for intervention by Jesus Christ, or utter Chaos will reign in toto. People who can and do read know Chaos is the ultimate goal of Marxism.
We must recognize the need for Jesus Christ in every area of life, beginning in our heart, our family and nation, and the world.
