Hollie must be a Conservative Republican. Hollie could never masquerade as a fan of Flip Wilson. The idea that I alone am responsible for my actions is a large pill to swallow. For most of my life I have found great surcease in blaming my ancestors, my genetic combination and the horrendous environment to which I was subjected in my tender and formative years. With only one father and one mother I spent the bulk of my life as a near orphan.
We can rant and rave, laugh or cry, demonstrate, remonstrate, even pass laws, but when all is said and done we are responsible for our own actions. This truth is almost always associated with the concept of mortifying consequence, but knowing and accepting responsibility for our own actions is a positive life enhancing truth when the word benefit replaces consequences. The Bible states the truth of consequences verses benefits in a somewhat neutral sense.
Galatians 6:7 “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
Negative sowing to the carnal, actions with consequences or positive sowing to the Spirit, actions with benefits are sure to reap in kind. So the quality of our daily life depends largely on decisions to follow God’s plan. Happy trails.
