The other day I read an article in USA Today that explained how the paper is responsible for more than 60 innocent people being set free from Federal Prison. Here is a copy of the teaser sent by USA Today
***USATODAY.com Breaking News***
"Dozens of federal prisoners who are locked up even though prosecutors concede they are "legally innocent" could soon be released under new orders from the U.S. Justice Department. The department confirmed Monday that it had instructed its lawyers to abandon legal objections that could have blocked - or at least delayed - the inmates from being set free. The change follows an in-depth USA TODAY investigation in June that identified more than 60 people who were imprisoned for something an appeals court later determined was not a federal crime. http://usat.ly/TAtz75. (A real eye opener).
As a regular reader you know that I agree with God and society that law breakers deserve punishment on a par with the severity of the crime. I also wonder how newspaper reporters came to know more about Federal Law than Federal Prosecutors?
Isaiah 61:1 "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;"
In our country the rule of law is supposed to supersede rule by whim?
