The blaring news on some media outlets and barely whispered on others, is, in ways I can find no words for, heartbreaking, but worse than this pain, a mark of betrayal on the part of many participants in our nation’s leadership.
The shameful manner in which many of our veterans are being treated is coming to the bright light of day via some determined investigative reporting. It was discovered that a Veteran’s Hospital in Los Angeles is staffed to care for 800 veterans per month. All the while they are receiving thousands of requests from veterans. The reporters produced taped conversations with officials admitting the regular destroying of thousands of records of the requests for appointments for medial help from certified veterans. This action is practiced across the nation.
Add to this the burning question of the last 18 months concerning the murderous attack on an Embassy of the United States of America resulting in the death of our ambassador and three heroic warriors, while our armed forces in the area were ordered to stand down and our leaders joined in the phrase of our Secretary of State, “What difference does it make?”
In addition to this our warriors are suffering cuts in pay due to the maniacal cutting of our defense budgets, while increasing the cost of free handouts. The news from the shores of the Potomac seems to originate in the mind of The Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland.
That wickedness is being practiced against the principles and intent of our constitution and later covenants with our warriors is hard to deny or justify.
Following the carnage of WWI, British leader, David Lloyd George stated concerning the valiant warriors who survived to return to home “We promise the returning soldiers, there will be homes fit for heroes.” This was the seminal seed for our later GI Bill. Now in the evening shadows of my life I am witnessing attacks on our heroes designed to denigrate them and the awful price they have paid to satisfy the blood lust of leaders who are no longer committed to victory, to the vanquishing of our avowed enemies, but developing world-wide economic markets to the destruction of our American way of life.
The history of broken promises by higher ups has been the continuing mark of leaders during my generation. Any No-Win war is simply a broken promise our Founding Father’s made to us about “no entanglement.” Just today on a talk show, some of our leaders were talking about people of the Mid-East not being capable of democracy. Truth be known, no people are ready for this. Our Nation is a republic with democracy not mentioned one time in the Constitution. Check it. Oral’s Note: (Democracy is outlawed, along with communism, socialism, monarchy, and all other forms of government by Article 2, Secton 2, which guarantees a republican form of government. That makes all other forms prohibited, outlawed, criminalized. But those conspiring to violate that federal law are not arrested or subjected to the RICO act. Why?)
How did the lower realms in which we now dwell come about? It’s a bitter pill, but an obvious one. Here is a thought for today from Daniel as I seg into the cause and cure for our time.
Daniel 11:32, “And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.”
The lying flatteries of promise/constitution breaking politicos can only have sway in the hearts of people who have already decided to do away with the promises as only a piece of paper from and for another time. Our laws, justice system and daily life for the most part find validation in the teaching of the Holy Bible. When the people decide, whether said people be Americans or the supposed sub-humans of the Mid-East, to do away with God’s way, at that point they are ripe for the deceptive oratory of the flatterer, who speaks words against the foundations. Keep in mind the constitution is not the foundation, but it is laid and bound on the foundation of God’s Word. We don’t need to “hug our guns and Bibles,” for we know the answer is in God’s Word.
The ancient Psalmist wrote, “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Psalms 11:3.
We who claim God’s Word as our guiding light must do as Daniel prophesied and be strong and do exploits. To do exploits we must, as Theodore Epp challenged his generation, come Back to The Bible. Now is the time for the people of the Lord Jesus to stand up and be counted and get back to serious prayer for the intervention of Christ.
I doubt that any among us has the word power to do as Winston Churchill is said to have done in marshalling the spirit of the British Empire during the Battle of Briton and later WWII. Edward R. Morrow wrote “Winston Churchill mobilized the English language and sent it into battle.” May we take our halting voice and feeble pens and send our words along with our hearts into the current war on civilization.
