As I browsed around I came again upon a much used statement from the British author, Eric Blair. His statement, while probably true, is not a feel good thought put to paper, but one of shocking reality now staring thinking people in the face.
That blatant tyranny is a real threat to our America way is obvious to all, the folks who are promoting it under disguise and those who openly oppose the type of force common to governments in Europe, and third world countries. It had been the vogue for a number of years to suppress opinions on many subjects concerning our history, religion is ordered to stay out of politics, as though outrageous sin is a political matter. I will give the point that most sins are practiced prodigiously in the political and religious sphere.
Here’s the negative side of the future from Eric:
“If you want a vision of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face – forever.” Eric Blair, known as George Orwell, Author 1984
Those who keep tabs on the world scene will find the remarks from the 1950’s to be on target. In the long run the natural world offers little, so we had better enjoy the now. Even Paul admitted that if the future is based on a philosophy without the resurrection of Christ we Christians are of all men most miserable. So, even the Bible presents the harsh truth of not only the war of the worlds, but of the continuing struggle for opposing world views.
As a matter of fact the scriptures do portray a time of utter destruction yet to be unleashed upon the entire world. This will a furious time, a time with no liberty but only entire submission to the ruling tyrant. A world with no hope, for this world or the next, for the ruling concept will be the final fruition of the vain philosophy of “man being the ultimate measure of all things.”
The other, correct world view, has it that man, while placed in a position of responsibility for the welfare of the creation, is in a fallen, but redeemable state and at a point, God, man’s creator, will, bring redemption to His creature and creation. This is a fundamental tenet of all sects of Christianity and most religions of which I am aware. Other groups have hopeless theories that are nihilistic at best.
For most of the history of the United States of America a majority of our citizens and the world understood that our nation who proclaimed to the civilized world “In God We Trust” on our currency was the “best and last hope of the world.”
I write this piece knowing the hell bent for destruction from within of our beloved nation, with the growing “boot in your face” theory of rule, will, in time, fail. Yet, I firmly trust that we will yet, in a coming day, gather with Jesus, down by the riverside and study war no more.
