LLLV19 3-21-2019 Billy Graham on From The Pit to World Stage
Here’s a quote from a man describing his childhood years:
“I was reared during the depression years on a farm. My parents weren’t able to give me the advantages most young people enjoy today. I grew up in a Christian home, but by the time I was fifteen, I was in full revolt against all religion, against God, the Bible, the church.”
The above paragraph is not, thankfully, the end of the story in this case. In too many cases it is the end of the story. The key to the positive outcome of the opening quote is in the next line of the story:
“But one night I committed my life to Jesus Christ, and He gave me a whole new direction.”
Millions, of people, including yours truly, have the same or similar stories of the difference Jesus Christ makes in a life. My epiphany came at age 20, and while never being the same, I make no claim to personal perfection but lay hold of the judicial perfection of Christ put on my account.
The opening quote and conversion line are from Billy Graham concerning his early years and conversion.
Only eternity will tell the story of the millions upon millions of people who have experienced the overwhelming power of Jesus Christ intervening in their life.
In today’s chaotic scene we tend to give up on people who are a little or a lot on the wild side. We must cut this practice out and believe God will intervene as we pray in a spirit of mercy on their behalf.
John 17:20 "I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word;” (NKJV).
