Have you ever felt like you are coming apart at the seams? If I can tell you about one loaded word that can help you to overcome the feeling, the feeling that leads from feeling to fact, would you buy it? Will you at least consider it?
Today’s one word may bother some of you as it comes via the mind and pen of a girl, not an old girl, not necessarily all that young, but a wise girl for certain. The gem:
“The beliefs we hold should hold us up even when life feels like it’s falling apart.”
Lysa Terkeurst.
Lysa is the author of several great books, one that Joyce is reviewing in the May issue of Larry Lilly’s Journal, titled, Uninvited, Living Love when you feel less than, left out and lonely. Get the book.
Did you pick up on the key in the quote from Lysa? It will change your life dramatically if you take it to heart and hold the correct belief.
It’s amazes me, as well as myriads of other students of human nature, why Christians, of all the believers of the earth, fold their cards at the first sign of adversity when we hold the most powerful beliefs on earth? We, according to the Bible, believe that Jesus is not only bodily raised from the dead, but that in addition, He via The Holy Spirit, lives within our hearts enabling us to be more than conquerors who overcome the painful things of life according to Paul in
Romans 8:37 “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
The verse takes on power reading when you factor in the context prior to and afterward that deals with all sorts of setbacks, tribulation peril, sword, and then death, life, angels of principalities. I must cut off for the list is long. When taken as a slim composite of the troubles life can bring on, it shows help for us to be, as one translator puts it, arrogantly invincible, due to Christ’s love for us! A.T. Robertson gives us this from Conquerors: (hupernikômen). Late and rare compound. Here only in N.T. "We gain a surpassing victory through the one who loved us."
Deny the paralyzing feeling and emphasize the power of true belief!
