I doubt that you will find a correct spelling for “Behinder.” It is absent from Merriam Webster’s Unabridged Dictionary. The syndrome is a malady suffered by many, if not most Americans, including, especially, the Christian Community. I came across the word years ago while browsing through a book store. It was inscribed on a wooden plaque,
“The Hurrier I Go, The Behinder I Get.”
I recall thinking, “Truer Words Were Never Spoken.”
Take notice, when you are behind schedule, start the computer, at the moment you hit the first key, the computer immediately begins a download of updates. 5000 Gigabyte’s requiring multiple restarts. The dog is scratching the door demanding reentry. When you leave the computer to let the dog in, he will appear to be of the lineage of The Creature From The Mud Lagoon, seeing as it rained all night. It will dawn on you that you left the car out of the garage with the sunroof open. You clean the dog up, pull the car into the garage, attempt to wipe the inside dry. You go back to the computer and the screen is black. And just as you begin a primal scream, you hear the other dog scratching to go out. A glance at the hallway floor assures you that you did not hear another dog scratching.
To counter the wisdom on the plaque we must join Moses in Psalms 90:12, “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”
