A Way to Overcome Regrets  Valerie Sullivan

LLLV19 11-18-2019  A way to Overcome Regrets Valerie Sullivan

Alongside Paul’s paean of Victory in 2Timothy 4:7 are three “no’s” entered in the margin by William Borden. William was called into the Presence of Jesus at age 25 while serving as Missionary to Muslims in China. Here’s the statement:
No Reserve, No Retreat, No Regrets

How is it possible to make such a statement? No holding back from God? No backing down? Never an act bringing remorse? Borden was rich, left all to follow Jesus.

In her excellent book, Shattered Souls Made Whole, Valeria Sullivan coined this thought to help us along the way:

“We may have too many regrets to mention, yet we have a God who redeems us!”

Here’s Paul’s take on the life, though with imperfections, well-lived:
2Timothy 4:7

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
