I often read a passage of scripture, pass over it, and then, sometimes years pass and I again read the passage and say, “WOW” how did I miss this truth.
Acts 9:10-17 is a case in point. Ananias, a mere disciple was called upon by God to minister to blind Saul, who was to become the Apostle Paul.
God instructed Ananias to minister to Paul, who unknown to Ananias had met Jesus on the Damascus Road.
Here’s the point:
God often gives instructions to us that are difficult.
Like Ananias we may be overwhelmed with doubt.
When this happens we must rely on God’s promises. We then proceed toward the difficult assignment as did Ananias.
It takes courage to take God at His word, and many people carrying Bibles today, lack the courage to stand up for Jesus.
In a word, today’s thought is wrapped in this:
”Courage is following difficult instructions in the face of danger.”
