A friend of years whom I have never met, John A. Richard, Bay St. Louis, MS, has a group of prisoners and ex-prisoners he calls “Our Family of Rogues.”
According to John’s newsletter the family is growing due to conversion to Christ. Rogues, is an acronym for Redeemed Ones Given Undeserved Eternal Salvation. I love the name and the acronym. Over the years John has accumulated over eight hundred in his Rogues Family.
The longest term member of John’s family of redeemed, now out of prison, has survived cancer, two shoulder replacements, two knee replacements and is on dialysis three times a week, but refuses to give up! The second longest member is on “Life Row” (Death Row).
In a true sense all who are saved by Christ could appropriately be called Rogues for Jesus, or the title John uses.
If the scripture is true, and I am convinced it is, and in Adam all die, then redemption is for those who by linage are rogues, rogues in desperate need of the change that’s wrought by Jesus Christ, transferring us from the Kingdom of Darkness to the Kingdom of His Dear Son.
Romans 5:15, “But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.”
